I have been Married for 2 years and I feel I am in a bad situation?

My husband is a italian from ny and I grew up in the south on a dairy farm. We dated in college and I always new he has a temper but it never concerned me. We moved to a new state together and things were great till his younger brother and his girlfriend moved there and started causing problems. So we decided to move accross the state. We now live near his Italian mother who has always been nice to me and now we are living near her she is over bearing and says rude things to me that my husband says he never sees. So as time has gone on not only is his family coming between us but he yzes and critizes everything I do. I do not have any friends here so I feel as though I am being smothered and the worse part is if I try to talk to him he will flip out he does not see it. Now that I am around his mother I see he is just like her. I am scared that things will never change. He is a great guy with a great heart but I cannot deal with a overbearing temper.. I am use to a calm enviorment
