Is Fallout 3 a worthy addition to the 'Fallout' series?

In spite of how great the game was, who thinks Fallout 3's ending was the most anti-climactic ending in video game history? Do you think that the game's sub par conclusion more or less ruined the game and makes it unworthy of consideration as a canon Fallout title or do you think the core content and the quality of quests during the game outweigh the lackluster finale? Please elaborate, points for the most thoughtful answer.
