Help with samsung U600 please?

I am trying to connect my new samsung U600 to my pc but it keeps saying invalid data and faulty hardware and will not let me connect. Anyone have any ideas. I've contacted samsung and t- mobile but they did not know either. I could get a new one or a different phone but would like to fix the problem if poss to save the hle.
