How do I use Linksys WRT54GS Router to pick up internet from neighbor?

Ok, so I have an internet signal that is unsecure that I have been able to access on a laptop with a wireless card, however, I will no loner have access to this laptop any longer. So I'm looking for someone to please help me use my Linksys WRT54GS Wireless router to grab that outside unsecure internet signal, and pipe it into my pc. I have both eithernet cables and eithernet crossover cables so I'm hopeing I can do this, however, I'm not the most computer literate person, and need detailed instructions on how to perform this task. Yes I know, it would be much easier to call the cable company and have them come hook up my own internet. But, I'm jobless, low on cash, and losing access to the laptop that I use to get on the internet tomorrow. Thank you so much in advance or your responses!! Amy
