How can I stop my dog whining when I leave?

A little background - my dog is a long wire haired Jack Russell, aged 12 and I have owned him a little over a year. I acquired him as I used to work for his previous owner of 10 years and part of my duties was taking care of her dogs. A few months before my employment ceased with Sams previous owner she offered him to me as her only other option was to have him put to sleep. Her only reason for this was that he was often wandering off on his own and getting himself and the other animals injured. (Basically, he lacked attention from his owner). He lived in an outdoor kennel his whole life with 3 other german shepherds and was obviously missing human interaction. (Due to him living outdoors he has remained very fit and healthy and is very simillar in fitness to a 7-8year old at least). Whilst he was with this previous owner, if ever the dogs were let out of the kennel, Sam was usually locked in a stable on his own to prevent him from wandering off the farm. He would whine and yelp continuously. Anyway, I took him as I'd grown close to him and couldn't bare the thought that he'd be put down simply because she didn't have time for him. He's taken to me incredibly, has totally disregarded his previous owner and can't seem to bare being apart from me. My boyfriend also worked here and has known Sam longer than me but Sam still prefers to be with me. I can't leave our house for 5minutes without him whining and tearing at the door, jumping at the doorhandle and windows. I've tried leaving him with his toys (he LOVES ), I've left him with plenty of food, water, bones, chew toys that he loves, dog chocolate drops and he is totally uninterested in any of them until I return. I've even tried not feeding him in the morning until I go out to see if this will coax him to eat whilst I'm out but again he just whines and waits for me to return. It's not even as simple as him not wanting to be alone, as I said previously he's known my boyfriend longer and gets on very well with him but even if I leave the house by myself, leaving Sam with my boyfriend, he wanders around aimlessly whining and crying, on two occasions he has peed on my partners leg (uming he's telling him he's angry that my boyfriend has sent me away?) Before we or I leave Sam in the house by himself we always take him out for a proper walk, making sure he does not need to use the bathroom, has worn himself out, etc. I don't leave him for long, 3hours is the most I have ever left him. I just don't know what else could be wrong and how to fix this, it's not necessarily so much that it annoys me (I'm not around to hear the whining) but it distresses me that he gets in such a state and I avoid leaving the house for simple things such as grocery shopping and send my boyfriend out instead. Help, is there anything I could do to help ease his stress other than medication?

But if she has to have a hysterectomy to save her life and stop the bleeding, then tell her to go back to the doctor and have it done. I had a hysterectomy done on me four years ago because of huge fibroids that was causing me all kinds of pain and bleeding. I had it done and everything turned out ok. I bought him three months ago, and took him on his first hack with me two weeks ago. He was very hyper and extremely forward going! On the way to the woods, we went on the road, although very hyper he behaved well and felt safe. In the woods and fields he was very hyper and constantly wanting to gallop. Once in canter he would go straight to gallop and barge past horses in front! When holding him back he would fight the bit and try back up from it. Eventually after several gallops, on the way home (on the road!!) he got extremely worked up and wanted to canter home, so i got off him for safety reasons and a more experienced rider got on him, which he then began to buck and rear in the road. Yet in the paddock he is superb! Very well schooled and quite lazy to be honest. What can i do? Does a stronger bit need to be used or a flash, or was it just pure excitement it being all new and all?

This question is very broad and obviously would need a lot of studying to understand, but im just curious about it. So people say that there is stereotype threat, that minority groups do worse on certain tests and in certain activities because society thinks that they will do worse(in a nutshell). So couldn't that be said about men and being aggressive? That because men hear about how often men abuse women, or how they are supposed to be tough and fight, whether or not it is true, that they will internalize it and this could lead to them acting aggressively. Because with this argument, you could say that minority groups are making excuses about differences in test scores, the same way a man could make an excuse that it was ok to hit someone, or about abuse?

Why does my dog want to bite me?

my GSD is really soft towards me and loves attention but because he isnt properly house trained i have to lock him in a crate when i go out. he has never had any bad experiences in a crate as ive always had him. when i put my hand near the cage or walk past he will start barking like mad really low growls and shows his teeth and tries to bite his way out. it cant be because he feels threatened as he never used to do it only these past 2/3 weeks! does anyone have any ideas why he might be doing this? he is 11 months old.

I am worried about the way my friend behaves. I have been friends with him for three years but I am finding it harder and harder to be his friend. first of all he was always giving me a hard time questioning me over things which where pointless and although he knew he had a problem then he couldn't seem to help the way he was acting. Ok so im irish and i was going out with a brazilian national for a year and i got pregnant...before i found out i was pregnant my boyfriend went back to brazil because his father was sick. He had been in ireland for 2 years before he left but he was illegaly in ireland. he overstayed his welcome...so when i found out i was pregnant i rang and told him....he said he would b back to ireland in two weeks. He flew into belfast thinking he would be able to entre because belfast is part of the u.k. They refused him and sent him back to paris. he was in paris for one month stayin in hotels ..... i went over to paris on the boat 5 monhs pregnant and brought him back to ireland on the boat as soon as we got of the boat he was immediatley refused. I begged and pleaded they let him in so they faxed his details on the the head of immigration in ireland but was refused. He then went back to france on the boat and got the train to spain and lived with his cousin until the baby was born.When the baby was born i flew to spain with the bay and we lived in a small apartament with his cousin for month...we booked our ticket to go and live in brazil...as of now i am still in brazl but really want to go back to ireland ! Brazil doesnt suit me :(.....my child has a brazilain birth cert and an irish birth cert. That level of diagnostic is REALLY hard to tell. If you've re-installed Windows and got same issue with SP1-3, then it is not the service packs breaking your PC. Have you tried running a full anti-virus diagnostic on that PC and on that external HD. How does your PC handle in Safe Mode (if you run it for a week in Safe will it crash the same)? Who is the PC manufacturer? Have you tried an application like Driver Detective to see if one of your drivers is out of date or imcompatible? Do you frequently go to Warez sites or trade music/vids online (which program do you use)? There is a possiblility your portable HD is infected and reinfecting your PC when you connect it.

Why is my family so obsessive and controlling over my grandma?

Me and my fiance live with my grandmother, and I have a job and my fiance helps around the house since my grandma is of age. She probably won't do very well if try to switch her to the now, it's been too long. You should go up a size in though so she will get more. You never want them to have to suck really hard it is bad for there jaws and it causes ear infections! So try going up a size in so the holes are bigger. If your daughter likes to suck try to get her to take a pacifier, if you let her suck her hand then when she gets bigger it's harder to break since you can't exactly just take her hand away, but a pacifier you can take away so it's a lil bit easier to break them! OH and try a latex pacifier, babies who like to suck their hands and fingers like latex better b/c it feels more like their skin then silicone. That's how I finally got my son to take a pacifier, he refused the silicone's but the first latex one I gave him he immediatley took!

I agree with you that NBC's best option is to move Jay back to 11:30, then buy out Fallon so long as Conan agrees to be moved back to his old time. Given egos, however, that is easier said that done, as I doubt Conan will accept being demoted. But one never knows. One other possibility is to buy out Conan and just keep Fallon, with Jay at the 11:30 slot. Conan is not funny. At least not to any audience over 30, and I doubt most people under 30 are very committed to him. I used to like Conan when I was in college- a decade ago. But Conan's humor is just not the type of humor that goes well with the older 11:30 audiences. Most comics don't find Conan funny at all. Leno isn't a paragon of comedy either, but he is at least more respected because he really does comedic acts outside the show, and you can tell by his fairly good, on the spot delivery. I can't say it any other way: Conan is just not funny. I have no idea why NBC made such a dumb move to begin with.

Uhmm .. my period is messed up..?

Okay my period was only really light and if i went to the bathroom 1 every 2 hours it would be fine. It was like normal temperature in my house. I walked to my nannys house , and its probably 4 degrees hotter there , and within half an hour my period was as bad as it was the second day ( today is the fourth and its usually the last day ) same thing happens to me if i do sports 1-2 days after my period is 100% gone.. . untill i start running or something. Oh and now that im home, I went and took a COLD bath and its almost back to the light flow it was until I went to my nannies ( around 2 , and i woke up at 9). Thats very wrong when i was at school they locked the toilets to stop girls from going; it's absolutely wrong. I would pursue it or have your parents call the school because it can actually pose health risks for girls with periods using tampons as they can end up with toxic shock syndrome if they aren't changed regularly. Also girls (and boys) with bladder problems that the school may not be aware of shouldnt be made to suffer; and if there are pregnant girls at school this can be made worse. In general though it's just not on at all you shouldn't be punished for a bodily function. Definately pursue it.

I used to teach CPR cles which include this. I used it twice. Once was at a co. picnic; the man across from me was eating a steak and I noticed that was in trouble. The table was very long and we were in the middle. I didn't want to take the time to go around, so I jumped right over the table (younger then) and sure surprised his wife, who was next to him. I started the procedure, but he was bigger than me and another health professional took over and he was successful. The other time, my husband was choking on a ham sandwich the night before we separated. I saved him. If I had not been there, I would have collected a nice life ins. policy. Now his new wife gets it. I'm still glad I did it, but funny how life works out.

Last year around this time, I was introduced to the world of anorexia. I restricted my calorie intake to no more than 500 and went days & days without eating. I started out 143 lbs and in a matter of 2 or 3 weeks I went down to 128 lbs. I'm 5'3. I don't remember what stopped my anorexic ways.. I think it was because of my mom, and how I hated making her upset & lying to her. But the thing is, for the past year, I've been trying to get it back... I always fail and end up binging. A binge to me is like, an endless amount of food no exaggeration. I eat like I'll never see food again. I'm back up to 145 lbs btw, and as of two weeks ago I decided to go back to weight watchers which is what I was doing before my eating disorder. But now, even weight watchers, the most simple 'diet' plan in the world is difficult to me. I keep binging!!! I don't want to be this way but I'm completely losing control over myself.

Can DHS take my kids if I am getting a divorce but living with my boyfriend?

Well, i don't think they can as long as your children are being well cared for and there is no abuse or neglect. You are in the process of a divorce so it's obvious you two won't be together. I do not believe they can do anything about that. DHS is out for the well being of children. If they are clean, have plenty of food, a decently clean house they are living in, and aren't being left home alone it doesn't matter who lives with you. They aren't going to take your children because you live with a boyfriend while your divorce is going on. Now, if your boyfriend had any kind of abuse or neglect on his record, they may have grounds to stand on to take your children. I have dealt with DHS before on bogus reporting made, and I still have my son and my boyfriend lives with me and is my babysitter (although I am already divorced) and they closed it because there was no evidence of abuse or neglect. He is clean and has plenty of food, and always has a sitter. Just make sure if you're sleeping together the kids don't walk in and see. You could get in trouble for that. I wouldn't worry if I was you.

Painful bony lump on finger?? What the heck is this thing?

Ok so I have a bony bump on my middle finger on the left hand. For a few days I noticed pain in the finger and just recently realized the cause was this bump. At first I freaked out thinking it was a bone and I broke something without noticing it. Now coming to my senses, I realize that's not possible but still can't explain it. I am very healthy. I am 23. I run and exercise on a regular basis. I take supplements and vitamins and omega 3's. I don't eat dairy products, I get all my calcium from greens and other vegetables. I don't eat meat, I get my protein elsewhere. I don't understand what this could be or how to get rid of it. It is not a cyst because it does not feel fleshy or move around. It is like a bone just popped up over night. Please help me. I have no health insurance so seeing a doctor is out of the question considering it would cause me to go bankrupt. Ok..a little up to date so you will better understand. We have been together for 5 years this June. All of which has been long distance because I have been in school & never wanted to move to the boondocks where he lives & he would never make a compromise about moving closer to town until now. 2 years ago we got pregnant. Have a beautiful daughter. When she was 1 I ended things with him because of his lack of emotional, physical & financial support. I didn't hear for him for several months, but then I got papers where he was taking me to court for visitation. I never have denied him seeing our daughter I have just wanted to make sure he could do things like change a diaper..because he never had & had plenty of chance too. So we went to court spent several thousands of dollars. About 2 mos after going to court we started trying to work things out. We realized we still had feelings for each other & wanted to try things again. He said he had alot of growing up to do & he was ready to step up & be a good dad. The court order was for our daughter to go to his house in Louisiana every other weekend. I live in Florida. 5 hours away. We did that once then he decided he didn't want her on the interstate that much so he would come see her at our home. And he does. When he does. I cook for him, wash his clothes, we so shopping for him, he spends time on the computer & on the couch. AND he still expects me to wear lingerie for him & have all of this wild with him when he is there. (no don't get me wrong I want to do all of that, but I am tired most of the time) I still do everything for our daughter. I also work full time & I am in school full time working on my B.S. last night I got a little tired & was very snappy to him. It was over something silly & I have said I was sorry since. I can't connect with my parents?

Idk if this is normal and how it happens for everyone but me and my parents don't get along anymore I am 19 years old, and recently started my own business that is prospering very quickly. I now have enough money to move out and be set for the rest of my life. My parents always cared and tried to keep me sheltered as much as they could. But I grew up like an average teenager partying, drinking, smoking pot, etc. My parents never have liked my habit and it got to the point where they took away my car and gave it to my younger brother, which was a slap in the face because it was helping me become an adult by working and going to school, and things just seemed to be getting worse to the point were they cut me off completely. Basically hinting for me to get out of their house or thats at least how I take it. They treat my younger brother very differently than they do me, almost to the point were I don't feel like I am really their kid. My brother thinks its cool that he gets away with what I never could, I laugh at my parents because I think one day they are going to be in for a rude awakening when my brother does something wrong. I have a problem I want to solve because it hurts me to see it this way. It is my mum. For years, she has been a feisty person. She may be very easily angered and prone to physical punishment, but she had incomparable love for me (btw I'm 15). She always used to buy me things I wanted, and made sure that I worked for it. In my eyes, the best mum ever. Recently, my family amed a bit more wealth, enough to relocate into the more upscale areas of town. My mum's behaviour, has correspondingly (I think), changed. Previously, any problem I had could be solved by her and she made sure that I had a good life. Now, she hardly listens to me at all. I'm serious. She may pretend to listen, but even in a casual gathering, she would suddenly cut me off and talk to somebody else. Now, a few days back, I told her when I burned my hand on an open flame, and je replied nonchalantly "Good". She doesn't do this to anyone else. She gives the most attention to people working under her (her position is seniormost but in a very small company, the company is stable as it has been running for 10 years). I feel as though she may switch me or my sister for her colleagues. I'm not just saying this. The moment she leaves them, she turns all grumpy and snaps at us. She igned me to make a short movie, and though I'm not trained in any sort for this job, she scolded me the whole time for poor job. When she decided to get a professional to do the job, she was patient with her the whole time. I asked her once why her behavior changed between us and she hit me while saying that she needed to motivate them to work or they would quit. Does that mean that she cares more about her workers than me? Another thing she always does is that she criticizes me on my appearance. She always complains about my dad to me but when it comes to mr telling her about my feelings, she rudely cuts me off and changes the subject. How can I change this? i think you're probably over thinking it, compared to what a lot of people do online what you did probably wasn't that bad lol you could just tell him about your feelings and clear things up that way so that nothing gets taken too far :) If you've been talking to him for a couple of months and you like him then it isn't really a surprise that you opened up to him, it can also be much easier to open up to someone you haven't actually met face-to-face so I think you're fine :)

That sounds really rough. My advice is to see a psychiatrist as soon as you can. They can help you figure out what's wrong and make a plan to treat it with therapy and possibly medication. There is help out there to be found. If you are in school, you may be able to get the phone number of a local doctor from a school counselor. I am sure there are online resources to help you find someone as well. It sounds like you already have good support from your boyfriend. It would probably help to have your parents or another friend informed of how you are feeling as well. Just try to remember that there are people who want to help you if you ask!

He said that we would take it to trial and basically try to get the paper that said how high I blew dropped as evidence do to the the laziness of the cop that did the arrest. long story short I was wondering how it is during trial the operation this guy is going to be able to convince a jury.when at the beginning of the trial obviously im guilty as sin but after, he if he can get this evidence dropped the jury could find me innocent or can the judge step in and drop all charges cause the state has no evidence then the jury can't deliberate? I don't know exactly what all it is that im asking but how would a case like this be preceded in the judicialsystemm?

I can relate to electronics causing us to have more health issues. As adults we can decide how much or how little we allow technology to influence our lives. Where I live the weather plays a big part in how active I am. If the weather is nice I want to be outside and be active, when it is rainy or cold I do tend to be a couch potato. I always limited my childrens time watching television or playing video games. I can see a steady incline in the weight of children with more and more technology being used by them. When I was a kid the best times we had were going camping and fishing or going to summer camp. With my kids we didn't seem to have the time for camping trips and did more amusement parks and water parks in the summer. I couldn't find a good summer camp by the time my kids were camp aged. My grandkids are even less into the outdoors than my kids were growing up. It is sad and something that should be worked on of we don't want to see obesity continue to rise.

I'm 27 weeks pregnant and have had cold sores for the past 4 to 6 weeks. I previously hadn't thought there would be any problem caused to the baby because I had my first cold sore when I was about 9 or 10 and figured I'd probably ped on the antibodies to my baby, but i've read some horror stories about newborns getting very sick in the first couple of weeks of life, and in one case a 10 day old baby died from the virus, so I just wanted to check. N.I.U shootings and Jack Thompson?

My wife and I live in Sycamore IL which is right next to DeKalb IL where the campus shootings took place. we are also gamers. I can tell you first hand that the entire community has been rocked to the core by this terrible tragedy. I've been around the campus since the shootings and let me tell all of you, it is a really sad site. Jack Thompson is now trying to blame the N.I.U shootings on violent video games. It really angers me that he's doing this. There has been no evidence that this whack job even played video games. Any gamer out there will know that this is not the first time he's done this. He's done this with every school shooting since he became a lawyer and he's never won a single case ever on this issue. I was just wondering what all of you thought about this. I personally think he's a complete idiot and should be disbarred. What do you think?

Xbox 360 disk drive not spinning disks! PLEASE HELP?

Ok i was innocently playing cod 4 on my xbox a few days back, when it suddenly stopped making any noise in the middle of the game.. after the game it was loading and said disk unreadable. I then thought that the disk drive was buggered as it can't read ANY disks anymore. So yesterday i opened up my Xbox (YES IM OUT OF WARRANTY) just to find that when i put in a disk it does not spin therefore cannot read disks. Is it really that bad to swallow gum?

The only thing about some gums is that it's loaded with sugar. Gum does not stay in our bodies for 7 years- that's a total myth. Just as with anything else we swallow, we p it out our bodies via the poop shoot. For children it presents the obvious, choking. For people that swallow gum all the time, it may become backed up in the stomach, thus creating a lump so large that the body can't p it. But these cases are rare and you'd probably have to chew so much gum per day that you'd be interupting a normal diet. So no, the gum doesn't stay inside us for seven years nor does it stick to our stomach.

WOW OK....I never thought i would be asking for advice on a web site but my issue is tearing me apart and i dont know what to do. I like this guy and we are coworkers. One day he came in and wrote his number down and said let me know when you want lunch. so i we went out on a lunch date that same day and we expressed how much we admired each other. Ok, so I have an internet signal that is unsecure that I have been able to access on a laptop with a wireless card, however, I will no loner have access to this laptop any longer. So I'm looking for someone to please help me use my Linksys WRT54GS Wireless router to grab that outside unsecure internet signal, and pipe it into my pc. I have both eithernet cables and eithernet crossover cables so I'm hopeing I can do this, however, I'm not the most computer literate person, and need detailed instructions on how to perform this task. Yes I know, it would be much easier to call the cable company and have them come hook up my own internet. I have been Married for 2 years and I feel I am in a bad situation?

My husband is a italian from ny and I grew up in the south on a dairy farm. We dated in college and I always new he has a temper but it never concerned me. See that is the problem for companies. Companies legally have a right to moniter any mails done at the office. In my sisters office it is stricter than that.But even some companies have a way to watch what is work related and what is not.In the future it would be advisible to only write this things on your personal pc.I dont like the idea of someone reading my things easy. Daniel, you are not going to get back your full deposit if you did not give a full 30 days notice...that's just the law. What I may suggest is you put in your letter what the prorated cost for the 7 days that you are not going to be there (your rent divided by 30 days, then multiply that times 7). You should have the actual figures in your letter...whatever they may be. This covers your *** in the event that they agree to it, but never pay you or don't pay you ALL of what they should. If the numbers are in the letter that they sign off on, then there is no denying it if you ever have to take it court.
